Nominations

Anyone can nominate a person or service for an award. Self-nominations are also permitted.
It’s easy to complete a nomination.

  1. Check that the person or service meets the eligibility criteria for the award category.
  2. Collect all of the required information to complete the online form.
  3. Complete the online nomination form.
  4. Submit. Your nomination will be submitted to the Judging Coordinator.

Parent and Community Voice Submissions

Parents, family or community members are encouraged to seek assistance from their service provider to collect the information required for the nomination. Alternatively you can make a parent and community voice submission.

Parent and community voice submissions are a way for you to show support for your service and/or an educator and encourage them to submit a nomination.

It’s easy to complete a parent and community voice submission.

  1. Check eligibility criteria for the award category you are wishing to nominate the service or educator for.
  2. Complete the submission and submit. An email will be sent to your chosen educator or service letting them know that you want them to nominate for an award.

Award eligibility

To be nominated for an award the nominee must meet all of the eligibility criteria for the award category.

Award nominations can be received from the community, parents and carers and the education and care services. Educators can also nominate themselves for an award.

Emerging Educator

  • Educator has less than three years’ experience in the early childhood education and care sector in Australia.
  • Educator consistently demonstrates exceptional behaviour and commitment to improving their skills and ensuring quality outcomes for children.
  • Educator is a permanent resident or citizen of Australia and resides in the Northern Territory.
  • Educator works in an early childhood education and care service or program in the Northern Territory including; long day care, family day care, kindergarten, preschool, outside school hours care, playgroups or other service catering for children aged from birth to 5 years.
  • Educator’s nomination is endorsed by the service director, nominated supervisor or service provider.

Outstanding Educator

  • Educator has more than three years’ experience in the early childhood education and care sector.
  • Educator holds a formal qualification under the National Quality Framework.
  • Educator demonstrates a commitment to delivering quality practice and achieving positive outcomes for children.
  • Educator is a permanent resident or citizen of Australia and resides in the Northern Territory.
  • Educator works in an early childhood education and care service or program in the Northern Territory including; long day care, family day care, kindergarten, preschool, outside school hours care, playgroups or other service catering for children aged from birth to 5 years.
  • Educator’s nomination is endorsed by the service director, nominated supervisor or service provider.

Outstanding Leader

  • Educator holds a leadership role within an early childhood education and care service or program.
  • Educator holds a formal qualification under the National Quality Framework.
  • Educator demonstrates exceptional leadership qualities and contributes to continuous quality improvements in service/program delivery.
  • Educator is a permanent resident or citizen of Australia and resides in the Northern Territory.
  • Educator works in an early childhood education and care service or program in the Northern Territory including; long day care, family day care, kindergarten, preschool, outside school hours care, playgroups or other service catering for children aged from birth to 5 years.
  • Educator’s nomination is endorsed by the service director, nominated supervisor or service provider.

Outstanding Achievement in Innovative Practice

  • Early childhood education and care service or program promotes and sustains a culture of innovation and continuous improvement that delivers benefits to children and families.
  • Early childhood education and care service or program is located in the Northern Territory.
  • Early childhood education and care service or program caters for children aged from birth to 5 years.
  • Early childhood education and care service or program type is; outside school hours care, long day care, family day care, kindergarten, preschool, playgroups, Families as First Teachers or other service type that is not part of a formal schooling program from the year Transition onwards.
  • Nomination is endorsed by the service director, nominated supervisor or service provider.

Outstanding Achievement in Community Engagement

  • Early childhood education and care service or program promotes and sustains a culture of family and community engagement that delivers benefits to children, their families and the community.
  • Early childhood education and care service or program is located in the Northern Territory.
  • Early childhood education and care service or program caters for children aged from birth to 5 years.
  • Early childhood education and care service or program type is; outside school hours care, long day care, family day care, kindergarten, preschool, playgroups, Families as First Teachers or other service type that is not part of a formal schooling program from the year Transition onwards.
  • Nomination is endorsed by the service director, nominated supervisor or service provider.
